Japan-based steelmaker Aichi Steel has announced that it will invest JPY 1 billion ($7.59 million) to renovate its electric arc furnace.

With the renovation, the company’s stainless steel production capacity will increase by 40 percent to an annual 90,000 mt by 2026.

The renovation works will also result in quality improvement, energy loss and carbon emission reduction.
