According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's ferrous scrap exports totaled 509.127 metric tons in September this year, decreasing by 21 percent month on month and down 19.2 percent compared to September 2012.
In September this year, Japanese scrap exports to South Korea totaled 252.025 metric tons, while exports to China amounted to 190.072 metric tons, decreasing by 39 percent and up 3.3 percent respectively, both compared to September 2012.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year, Japan's scrap exports amounted to 6.5 million metric tons, increasing by 4.8 percent year on year.
