Japanese mills to lower gas pipe production

Sources report that major Japanese integrated steel producers are planning to lower steel gas pipe production during October-December period. The producers have already reduced their production during July-September period. The reductions will be 10-20 percent depending on the producer. The figure is lower than the production cutbacks in the same period of 2004. The move aims to keep prices stable since demand is expected to be lower.
