Italy’s new car registrations in February hit 28-year low

According to the figures provided by Italian automotive industry association ANFIA, in February new car registrations in Italy declined by 18.94 percent year on year to 130,661 units. This is the lowest monthly new car registration volume recorded in Italy since February 1984.

Italian automaker Fiat saw its domestic sales in February decline by 20.13 percent year on year to 36,984 units, though its market share remained relatively unchanged at 28.31 percent.

According to market insiders, there is little hope that the market will expand in the short and medium-term.
