Italy's crude steel output down 1.5 percent in July

In July this year, Italian crude steel output decreased by 1.5 percent year on year to 2.075 million metric tons, while in the first seven months of the year the output figure amounted to 15.144 million mt, up 2.4 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai. The decrease recorded in July was the fourth consecutive year-on-year decrease.
 
Italian crude steel output in July of the current year was also lower compared to the crude steel outputs of 2.271 million mt in June 2010, 2.636 million mt in June 2011 and 2.405 million mt in June 2012.
 
Meanwhile, in July this year 1.902 million mt of long steel products were produced in Italy, indicating a 1.3 percent decrease year on year, while Italy's flat steel output decreased by 7.6 percent year on year to 973,000 mt.
