According to Italy’s Official Gazette, the Italian government has changed the terms for critical raw material exports.

Ferrous scrap, including scrap not originating in Italy, is included in "critical raw materials", and its export is subject to the notification requirement if the quantity of ferrous scrap exceeds 250 mt or if the total of ferrous scrap in transactions carried out within each calendar month exceeds 500 mt.

The deadline by which to notify full information to the relevant ministries - mandatory for all persons intending to export from Italy, directly or indirectly, outside the European Union, the previously mentioned "critical raw materials" - has been increased from twenty to sixty days (before the start of the operation). In addition, the end of application of the indicated measures has been extended by three years, from December 31, 2023, to December 31, 2026.
