Italian industrial confidence indexes dip in May

In May this year, the seasonally adjusted confidence indicator in Italian manufacturing decreased to 86.2 from 89.1 in April, declining by 3.25 percent, according to Italy's national statistics office Istat. Assessments of order books and production expectations in Italian manufacturing worsened in the month of May.

Also in May, the seasonally adjusted confidence index in Italian construction dropped to 81.8 from 83.7 in the previous month. In the domestic construction industry, assessments of order books and construction plans improved slightly, while employment expectations worsened.
