Italian crude steel production up six percent in 2016

In December last year, Italian producers' crude steel output increased by 19.8 percent year on year to 1,776,000 metric tons, as announced by the Italian steel association Federacciai.
 
For the whole of 2016, Italy's crude steel output amounted to 23.341 million mt, up six percent compared to 22 million mt in 2015.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-November period of 2016 Italy's long steel output amounted to 10.839 million metric tons, increasing by 3.1 percent year on year. In the same period, Italian flat steel output amounted to 10.587 million metric tons, increasing by 10.6 percent year on year.
