Italian crude steel production rises by 1.8 percent in June

In June this year, crude steel production in Italy amounted to 2.085 million metric tons, up 1.8 percent year on year, as announced by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai. Italian crude steel output had decreased in both April and May this year on year-on-year basis.

June's production volume exceeded the 1.920 million metric tons recorded in June 2015, but is lower compared to the 2.166 million mt recorded in June 2014 and to the 2.193 million mt recorded in June 2013.

In the January-June period of the current year, Italian crude steel production amounted to 8.106 million metric tons, increasing by 2.5 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in May this year, Italy's long steel output amounted to 1.016 million metric tons, decreasing by 10.3 percent, while Italian flat steel output totaled 895,000 metric tons, decreasing by 17.1 percent, both year on year.
