Italian automotive sales slow down in November

According to Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, in November this year the Italian automotive sector registered a 21.1 percent year-on-year decrease in sales to 145,198 units. In the first 11 months of the current year, car sales reached 1,829,117 units, down 8.2 pecrent year on year. In the whole of 2010, car sales in Italy are expected to reach 1.94 million units, which would be the lowest level since 1996. 

In November, Italian carmaker Fiat Group's sales fell by 25.4 percent year on year to 41,912 units, while in the January-November period the carmaker's sales amounted to around 556,000 units, down 15.6 percent year on year.
