ISD’s steelmaking subsidiaries issue 2010 production results

Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk) and Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), the steelmaking subsidiaries of the Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), have issued their preliminary production results for 2010.

Accordingly, in 2010, Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk) saw its crude steel production decline by 20.4 percent to 2.895 million mt, its finished steel product output dropped by 19.6 percent to 2.673 million mt, its pig iron production fell by 20.6 percent to 2.568 million mt, while its agglomerate production declined by 5.3 percent to 4.288 million mt, all compared to 2009.

Meanwhile, DMKD in 2010 registered a 19.7 percent decrease in its crude steel production to 2.769 million mt, a 20.8 percent drop in its finished steel product output to 2.608 million mt, an 18 percent fall in its pig iron production to 2.618 million mt, and a 10.2 percent decrease in its agglomerate output to 4.285 million mt, all compared to 2009.
