Iron ore mining at Ukraine's Uzhniy GOK (UGOK) has been suspended due to the prohibition on railway transport use at UGOK's open pit mine imposed by inspectors of the Ukrainian State Committee of Health and Safety at Work.

In addition, due to severe violation of industrial facility exploitation regulations, production at UGOK's sinter plants No. 1 and No. 2 has also been halted.

As a result, UGOK has almost completely suspended production of finished products - i.e. iron ore concentrate and sinter.

Located in Kriviy Rih, UGOK supplies iron ore products to several steel mills in Ukraine, including Makeevsk, Ilyich, DMKD and others, and also exports its products to countries in Eastern Europe
