On June 8, aggregate inventory of iron ore at 30 major Chinese ports was 96,660,000 mt, up 950,000 mt week on week, following week-on-week decreases in the five previous weeks, according to data from port authorities in China.
Of the 30 ports, in the week in question 11 ports saw increases in iron ore inventory, while iron ore inventories decreased at 10 ports. The ports of Bayuquan and Jingjin recorded an aggregate iron ore inventory increase of 790,000 mt in the given week, while the eastern Chinese ports of Qingdao and Rizhao each witnessed an increase of 200,000 mt. Inventory of iron ore at the ports of Lanshan and Lianyun decreased by 360,000 mt and 150,000 mt respectively. Meanwhile, iron ore inventory in the south of China indicated no obvious change in the week in question.
