Iron ore inventories at Chinese ports regress

According to the most recent data regarding iron ore inventories at Chinese ports, as of April 20, the aggregated iron ore inventories across 30 ports in China totaled 96.64 million mt, down 990,000 mt week on week, according to Shanghai Shipping Exchange.

As for different ports, last week, the iron ore inventories at most ports declined week on week, especially in Jiangyin Port and Dalian Port with respective declines of 550,000 mt and 420,000 mt. Meanwhile, eight ports recorded increases in iron ore inventories, especially Fangcheng Port and Caofeidian Port with respective increases of 400,000 mt and 350,000 mt, both compared with the previous week.

In the meantime, iron ore imports from India slightly increased last week, while the imports from Brazil and Australia declined by 290,000 mt and 300,000 mt respectively.
