Influenced by the start of the rainy season in Indonesia, the country's iron ore exports to China decreased in June as compared to May, as reported by Bloomberg. In addition, the increased focus in China on seeking domestic iron ore supplies was also a contributing factor in the decrease in question.

China's total iron ore imports in June amounted to 51.09 million mt, down from 53.3 million mt in May, but up eight percent year on year.

Indonesia, the third largest iron ore exporter to China, has its rainy season from June to September, which causes difficulties in transportation and in shipping goods from Indonesia's ports.
