Indonesia’s KHI Pipe Industries completes new ERW facility

Indonesia-based pipe producer PT KHI Pipe Industries, a subsidiary of PT Krakatau Steel, has announced that it has successfully completed the construction of its second electric resistance welding (ERW) facility for pipe production.
 
The ERW facility with an annual production capacity of 150,000 mt will produce steel pipes with an external diameter of 4"- 20". The total investment in the project amounted to IDR 335.6 billion ($27.7 million).
 
With the completion of the second ERW facility, PT KHI Pipe Industries has become a complete and integrated pipe manufacturer, as well as a major consumer of Krakatau Steel's hot rolled coil products.
