India's Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), which operates a steel plant in southern India popularly known as "Vizag Steel Plant", has drawn up a corporate strategic plan to ramp up capacity to 20 million mt per year and emerge as the largest single-location steel producer in India, a company official said on Thursday, January 15, on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to the media and the plan has yet to be approved by the government.

The corporate plan is the follow-up of RINL's current plan under implementation to ramp up steel capacity to 12 million mt per year from 6.3 million mt per year, and includes flat product manufacturing facilities and expansion of the product mix of the steel mill, the official said.
