India’s industrial production records 5.2% growth in May

India’s industrial production as measured by Index of Industrial Production (IIP) (Base: 2011-12) recorded 5.2 percent growth in May 2023, compared to 4.5 percent in April 2023, government statement releasing the data said on Thursday, July 13.

The statement said that ‘growth rate of May 2022 was not provided since such comparison would be misleading, considering the unusual circumstances on account of the Covid-19 pandemic since 2020’.
