India’s DGAD proposes lower reference rate for AD duty on CRC imports

India’s Directorate General for Anti Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) has proposed pruning the reference rate for antidumping (AD) duty on cold rolled coil (CRC) from $594/mt to $576/mt, an Indian government official said on Thursday, May 11.

Late last year, the DGAD following an antidumping investigation into flat steel product imports had recommended the imposition of an antidumping rate, the official said.

It was proposed that the antidumping duty payable would be equivalent to the difference between the reference rate and the landed price of flat steel products, if the landed price of the product was lower than the reference rate fixed by the DGAD, the official added.

However, following scrutiny of the latest data including trends in imports, the DGAD has recommended a lower reference rate for CRC, he said.
