India’s coking coal port import traffic up 8% in April-October

India’s coking coal import traffic through all major ports in the country in the April-October period of the fiscal year 2023-24 has been provisionally recorded at 35.76 million mt, up 8.24 percent year on year, according to data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Tuesday, November 7.

As per the calculations of SteelOrbis, inward shipments of coking coal in October worked out at 5.72 million mt, higher than the 4.54 million mt shipped in during September.

Total freight traffic of iron ore including pellets has been provisionally estimated at 31.20 million mt during the April-October period, up 41.17 percent year on year, according to the IPA data.
