IMS announces the acquisition of R&T

International Metal Service (IMS), the leading European distributor of special steels, announced that it has acquired Hungary's stainless steel distributor R&T. R&T posted a turnover of €10.2 million in 2002 with 34 employees. The company distributes long and flat stainless steel products in Hungary from a stocking centre located in Budapest. R&T also works in partnership with distributors locate in Romania, Croatia and Slovenia. The acquisition of R&T will provide an opportunity for IMS to enter into a new market with high potential. Also, IMS can make further developments in other Eastern European countries. IMS sells special metallurgic products for the abrasion-resistant, corrosion-resistant and engineering steel markets.
