Ilyich Iron and Steel sees highest monthly HDG output this year in Aug

Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest has announced that its subsidiary Ilyich Iron & Steel Works produced 30,000 mt of hot dip galvanized (HDG) steel in August of the current year, the biggest monthly output volume recorded this year, with about half of the production being manufactured according to the European standards.
 
According to the company’s statement, since May this year Metinvest constantly increased the delivery volumes of hot dip galvanized steel by 18 percent per month on average. The company pointed out that the increased output is supported not only by seasonal demand, but also by increased interest in local products as opposed to imported products. 
 
Work on the development of production and improvement of the quality of galvanized rolled steel is one of the strategic projects of the company, gradually implemented since 2013.
