Ilyich invests in PCI technology

The Ukrainian steel producer Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) is to install pulverized coal injection (PCI) technology at its facility to minimize the usage of natural gas and coking coal in steel production.

The equipment for the PCI process will be supplied by China National Mineral Co. Ltd. The total value of contract, which was concluded between the companies in question on May 18, 2006, is RMB 210 million ($27.1 million).
