Ilva launches Italy’s biggest VLOC

The marine shipping division of Italian steelmaker Ilva, part of Riva Group, has received delivery of ‘Gemma', a dry bulk carrier ordered back in 2008 costing $130 million, according to the internet site shippingonline.it.

The very large ore carrier (VLOC) is 330 meters long and 57 meters wide and has a cargo capacity of 315,000 mt of iron ore.
