Hyundai Welding to upgrade output capacity at Pohang No. 2 Plant

Hyundai Welding, South Korea's biggest maker of welding consumables, plans to upgrade the annual production capacity of its Pohang No. 2 Plant to 24,000 metric tons by 2012.

Hyundai Welding started up its Pohang No.2 Plant in the middle of August. The company is preparing for the upgrade of its production capacity with the schedule of commissioning the necessary facilities by the end of this year.

The major items that the Pohang No.2 Plant is turning out at present are submerged arc wire and solid wire. Hyundai Welding's headquarters in Pohang and its overseas plant in China are producing covered welding electrodes, solid wire, submerged arc wire and flux cored wire, while its Gochang Plant and Vietnamese plant are producing flux cored wire.

With its outstanding technology for the production of various welding consumables, Hyundai Welding has obtained a large number of certificates for its products from classification societies in South Korea, the US and France
