Hungary-based steel producer Dunaferr has restarted its hot strip mill, which had been shut down since December 2022, according to a spokesperson from UK-based steelmaker Liberty Steel.

The spokesperson stated that the company will start providing its customers with high value-added steel products again later this month.

In February this year, Liberty Steel and Dunafer signed a operational and commercial agreement to help the latter to stabilize operations. Since then, Dunaferr has been sourcing raw materials from the European plants of Liberty Steel. In addition, in the same month, Dunaferr restarted its blast furnace No. 2, meltshop and cold rolling mill with the help of Liberty.
