Michigan-based Helix Steel is planning to expand its manufacturing capacity at its Grand Rapids facility. Details of the expansion are not presently available. Luke Pinkerton, Founder and CTO stated in the press release, "We are experiencing increased demand from owners, developers and general contractors.” Increased demand is attributed to the increasing adoption rate of Helix Twisted Steel Micro Rebar (TSMR) in projects along with the renewed focus on rebuilding tunnels, highways, bridges, dams and other critical infrastructure.

Helix Steel, a Pensmore company, is the pioneer and manufacturer of TSMR. It is a concrete reinforcement technology that has 4 times the tensile strength of rebar at one-third the weight
