Hebei Steel ups ex-factory prices for February

On February 10, Hebei Steel Group announced an upward adjustment of its ex-factory prices of certain products for February. The details are as follows:

1. Wire rod prices are up RMB 70/mt ($10/mt). As a result, the new price of 6.5 mm Q235 is at RMB 3,730/mt ($546/mt).

2. Rebar prices have increased RMB 100/mt ($15/mt). Thus, the price of 16-25 mm diameter HRB 335 is now at RMB 3,750/mt ($549/mt), while that of 16-25 mm diameter HRB 400 is RMB 3,900/mt ($571/mt).

All the above prices include 17 percent VAT and are effective as of February 11, 2009.
