Hebei Iron and Steel Group’s “three highs” products output increased 12%

Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group announced that its subsidiary Shi Steel produced 889,000 mt steel in H1 2011, of which "three highs" products ( high quality, high price, high efficiency) increased by 12.32% year on year to 465.000 mt.
 
In January-June this year, Shi Steel's bearing steel output is 0.2 million mt, which made Shi Steel be the largest bearing steel bar producer in China.
 
In 2010, Shi Steel produced 0.62 million mt coke, 1.76 million mt pig iron, 1.91 million mt steel and 1.8 million mt steel products. The steel and steel products increased by 3.8% and 2.6% year on year respectively. The revenue of 2010 reached RMB 0.82 billion ($0.127 billion) and the profits amounted to RMB 220 million ($34.1 million), increased by 23% and 7% respectively as compare to 2009.
 
In 2011, Shi Steel expects to produce 1.7 million mt pig iron, 1.93 million mt steel and 1.85 million mt steel products.
