In the first half of the current year, Chinese steel producer Hebei Iron and Steel Group produced 23.6832 million mt of crude steel, thereby ranking first among Chinese steelmakers in terms of crude steel output. For the period in question, Hebei Iron and Steel Group's net profit reached RMB 2.345 billion, up 396.5 percent year on year and ranking fourth among Chinese steelmakers.
