Handan Steel sees line pipe output and sales surge in Jan-Apr

According to Hebei Province-based Chinese steel company Handan Iron and Steel (Hansteel), a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel Group, its output and sales volumes of steel line pipes surged in the first four months of the current year, both exceeding 130,000 mt, which is already half of the total output figure for the products in question in 2011.
 
Hansteel stated that in March and April its steel line pipe outputs achieved new record monthly highs, reaching 41,000 mt and 49,000 mt respectively. All products will be used in the Guigang-Yulin gas pipeline project, the Sino-Burma crude oil pipeline project and in China's West-East gas pipeline project.
 
In April, Hansteel supplied 25,000 mt of X80 grade line pipe of 18.4 mm thickness for the West-East gas pipeline project.
 
Meanwhile, as announced by Chinese Hebei Iron and Steel Group, Hansteel has developed production of S250GD+Z wrinkle finished color coated steel plate with specification of 0.48 mm x 1,250 mm, with the product meeting all required quality standards in tests. The wrinkle finished color coated steel plate product, which is characterized by toughness and durability, is mainly used in decors and facades of modern new buildings.
