Guangzhou Zhujiang Steel builds CR line this year

Guangzhou Zhujiang Steel Co. Ltd (Zhujiang Steel) is planning to set up a new sheet cold rolling production line under the framework of its expansion program. The new cold rolling line will be built in the second half of 2003. The mill aims to meet the huge domestic demand by expanding its production capacities. The cold rolling project will require an investment of approximately RMB 2 billion ($241.5 million) and will be designed to produce 1.1 million tons of cold rolled sheets a year, with maximum width of 1'380mm and minimum thickness of 0.3mm. The intended project will improve technical processes and facilities including a full automated control system for its principal equipment which include a continuous tandem pickling-rolling line, a full-hydrogen bell annealing furnace, a continuous hot-dip galvanizing line, a single-stand 4-roll flattener and a rewinding line.
