Italian steelmaker Lucchini RS has lately received the go-ahead from local authorities for the construction of a new €11 million project for the production of steel axles for train wheels, which will be located at the producer's facilities in the town of Lovere, Province of Bergamo, in Italy's northern region of Lombardy.
Lucchini RS plans to build a new 3,700 square meter plant for the production of steel axles for train wheels. The new state-of-the-art line will be wholly automated.
As previously reported by SteelOrbis, in May this year Lucchini RS officially inaugurated a €90m steel train wheel production line at its Lovere site. This new plant increased Lucchini's annual train wheel output capacity from 140,000 to 240,000.
