In the first quarter of this year, world stainless crude steel output decreased by 3.5 percent quarter on quarter to 11.76 million mt, increasing by 14.5 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to the preliminary report released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF).
According to the ISSF data, in the first quarter of this year stainless crude steel production increased by 19.4 percent in China and moved up by 6.5 percent in the Asia region excluding China and South Korea, while increasing by 36.2 percent in the US and rising by 6.1 percent in Europe, all compared with the first quarter of 2016.
