Germany’s crude steel output up 5.7 percent in Sept over Aug

In September this year, Germany's crude steel output amounted to 3.56 million metric tons, decreasing 2.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year but up by 5.7 percent compared to August, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl).

In the first nine months of 2012, Germany's crude steel production totaled 32.4 million metric tons, falling by 4.9 percent as compared to the same period of 2011.

On the other hand, in August Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 2.76 million metric tons, decreasing 6.7 percent year on year, including 1.84 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 3.9 percent year on year, and 919,000 metric tons of long steel products - down 12 percent year on year.
