German metal manufacturing turnover up 3.9 percent in Jan from Dec

In January this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry rose by 1.1 percent compared to December, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). In December  last year, a corrected 2.1 percent increase was registered compared to November. 
  
In January of the current year, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing increased by 3.9 percent compared to the previous month with domestic sales up 4.5 percent and foreign sales up three percent, month on month. 
 
In the given month, in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products in Germany increased by 4.5 percent, with domestic sales growing by 6.5 percent and foreign sales up by 0.5 percent, all compared to the previous month.
