German iron ore import prices down 2.5 percent in 2018

According to a report released by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in December last year the import price of iron ore in Germany increased by 0.2 percent month on month and was up 15.7 percent year on year.

In December, the average import price of iron and steel and ferroalloys in Germany rose by 4.7 percent year on year and was down 0.7 percent as compared to November.

In 2018, the import price of iron ore in the country declined by 2.5 percent, while the import price for iron, steel and ferroalloys rose by 7.9 percent, both year on year.
