German crude steel output decreases by 4.6 percent in January-July

In July this year, Germany’s crude steel output decreased by 0.5 percent year on year to 2.96 million metric tons, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the January-July period this year, crude steel production in Germany fell by 4.6 percent year on year to 21.48 million mt.

Germany’s pig iron output amounted to 2.08 million mt in July this year, up 4.8 percent, while in the January-July period it increased by 0.1 percent to 14.24 million mt, both year on year.

The country’s hot rolled steel output decreased by 6.3 percent to 2.54 million mt in July, while falling by 5.7 percent to 18.77 million mt in the first seven months this year, both compared to the same periods of the previous year.
