German building permits for dwellings maintain uptrend in Jan-Sept

In the January-September period of the current year, the year-on-year rise in building permits for dwellings in Germany maintained the positive trend observed since 2010.
 
As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), building permits for a total of 178,100 dwellings were granted in Germany in the first nine months of 2012. Compared with the same period of 2011, this indicates an increase of 6.2 percent or 10,400 buildings.
