Gerdau says domestic electricity prices should be equal to international prices

In a meeting with Brazil’s mines and energy minister, Eduardo Braga, Gerdau’s chairman defended a more balanced price for electricity in Brazil.

According to local media, Jorge Gerdau Johannpeter said electricity prices in Brazil need to be closer to international prices because the nation’s steel industry competitiveness depends much on the price of electricity, which is the most expensive worldwide.
