Brazilian integrated steelmaker Gerdau inaugurated this week a robotic center at its Sao Jose dos Campos unit, in the state of Sao Paulo.

The company invested BRL 500,000 ($150,141) in center, which is expected to contribute to the automation of the company’s industrial processes.

The initiative was developed in partnership with ENTEV Integracao Robotica and Yaskawa Motoman Robotics.

Gerdau said the new robotics space will also train up to 600 people, including employees and community members interested in robotics.
