Gerdau Aza to increase production in 2003

Chilean steel producer Gerdau Aza which is a subsidiary of Brazil's Gerdau Group, estimates to increase its crude steel production by 12% to 284'000 tons this year. Furthermore, net revenues will reach $96 million, up by 20% in 2003. These expections are in relation with strong operational figures as a result of $23 million investment. Gerdau Group has invested $182 million since 1992 to Aza which produces long products that are used in civil construction and industrial sectors.
