Georgia’s semi-finished exports to Turkey down 36 percent in Jan-Apr

In the four months of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $476 million, including exports of $57.88 million, down 14.3 percent, and imports worth $418 million, down 7.87 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
 
In the first four months of this year, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 19,026 metric tons, down 35.9 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $6.89 million, down 60 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in the given quarter, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey totaled $13.43 million, rising by 48.7 percent on year-on-year basis.
