Georgia’s scrap exports to Turkey fall slightly in January-May

According to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in the first five months of this year Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's main trading partner, amounted to 143,247 metric tons, decreasing by 0.9 percent year on year.


The revenue generated by these exports came to $52.11 million, up 32.59 percent from the year-ago figure, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous scrap to Turkey in the period in question was $363/mt, up from $276/mt in the corresponding period of 2010.
