Georgia increases scrap exports to Turkey by 17.79 percent in H1

According to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in the first half of this year Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's major trading partner, amounted to 163,617 metric tons, increasing by 17.79 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports came to $44.94 million, up 58.78 percent year on year, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous scrap to Turkey was $275/mt, up from $204/mt in the correponding period of 2009.
 
Meanwhile, in the given period Georgia's ferroalloy exports to Turkey regressed by 67.22 percent as compared to the January-June period of 2009, reaching 15,332 metric tons.
