GAIL seeks investor for gas pipeline project

Indian state owned natural gas company Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) announced that it is seeking an investor for the $2.2 million gas pipeline project. The project aims to pump gas from the liquefied natural gas terminal at Dahej, in the western state of Gujarat to Uran near Mumbai. It is expected that Indian major steel pipe makers, Saw Pipes Ltd., PSL Ltd., Man Industries Ltd. and Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd. will submit their offers to receive gas pipeline project. The increasing demand for gas in Baroda and Ahmedabad in Gujarat and in Pune will be met by this project. Furthermore, Hindustan Petroleum's and Bharat Petroleum's plants located in Mumbai are going to use the significant part of the gas.
