Further price hikes from certain units of ThyssenKrupp

Following the recent price increase by ThyssenKrupp Steel on carbon steel flat products, companies which are part of its stainless steel unit decided to effect increases in their base prices with different validity dates. ThyssenKrupp Nirosta (TKN) GmbH of Germany and ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni S.p.A. of Italy announced that they are going to hike base prices of flat rolled stainless and heat resistant steel prices by €50/mt. Price hike will be effective as of April 1 for new orders with shipments to countries in Europe. ThyssenKrupp Nirosta Präzisionsband GmbH which is a subsidiary of TKN also raised its base prices by 5% for new orders with immediate effect. Above mentioned companies attribute their price increases to booming costs of energy, labor and raw material, not offset by alloy surcharges.
