Further output capacities to be eliminated in Chinese steel industry

On September 16, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
(MIIT) announced that a third batch of outdated production capacities is to be eliminated in Chinese industry before the end of the current year, affecting 58 companies in 14 different industries. In particular, the outdated capacities to be eliminated include annual output capacity totaling 500,000 mt in the domestic steel industry, annual output capacity amounting to 1.48 million mt in the cement industry and a total annual output capacity of 600,000 mt in the Chinese metallurgical coke sector.
