Freight volumes on China’s roads up 6.4 percent in January-May

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that in May this year the overall freight volume transported on China’s roads amounted to 3.1 billion mt, up 7.7 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on Chinese roads amounted to 552.7 billion mt-km, up 6.8 percent year on year. 

In the January-May period this year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s roads totaled 13.3 billion mt, while the freight traffic volume amounted to 2.4116 trillion mt-km, rising by 6.4 percent and 6.6 percent respectively, both year on year.
