In January this year, the overall
freight volume transported on
China’s waterways (rivers, lakes, seas) amounted to 486.68 million mt, equivalent to 101.0 percent of the
freight volume figure recorded in the same month of 2014, while the
freight traffic volume on the country’s waterways totaled 745.48284 billion mt-km, equivalent to 100.6 percent of the
freight traffic volume figure for January 2014, according to the latest data issued by
China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT).
